Dr. Ira Kirschenbaum earned his bachelor’s degree from Brown University in 1979. He then attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine to complete his graduate degree and residency. Subsequently, he attended Thomas Jefferson University for training in hip and knee replacement and reconstructive surgery. In 1995 he became a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He then joined the Board of Directors for the EHR Project Team in 2010. Dr. Ira Kirschenbaum was both the founder and executive director of Medscape Orthopedics, which has since been purchased by WebMD. After the company’s purchase he began to work for WebMD as the Community Health Editor.


Dr. Ira Kirschenbaum’s career has been extensive and has provided him with experiences in innovative design, process re-engineering and information technology. He currently specializes in both bone and joint issues and focuses on repairing muscles, ligaments and bones. He resides in New York where he serves as the Chairman of Orthopedics at Bronxcare Health System. In his current position he serves a variety of clients, from clients that were born with issues to professional athletes, such as Mariano Rivera from the New York Yankees.



Dr. Ira Kirschenbaum begins his days by checking all of his social media accounts and emails. Once he arrives at work he holds a meeting with executives in his department so that he can develop a daily schedule. On the days where he isn’t meeting with patients, Dr. Ira Kirschenbaum works on projects that increase the value he can offer each patient.


Dr. Ira Kirschenbaum is able to bring his ideas to fruition through his own three-step process. The process mainly involves developing plans to effectively execute the plan. By surrounding himself with people that support his plans he believes that he is able to solidify his ideas.
